Kristi Kolene Ross
Debut Author – Squarespace Website Build

Industry: Publishing/Author

Kristi Kolene Ross is a fabulous debut author I had the pleasure of meeting through Reedsy. Her novel, Queen James I of Scotland: A Century Before Mary, is set to release in 2024, and Kristi needed a stunning website to build anticipation and establish her online presence.

Working with Kristi on this site was a blast. She wanted a platform to showcase her book, as well as a space to share her fascinating journey through researching and writing her story. Together, we created a visually striking website that immerses visitors in the world of her book from the moment they arrive. Using elements like bold maps, dramatic blood splatters, and a unique colour scheme of pinks, creams, and golds, we crafted a look that reflects the dramatic tone of Queen James I of Scotland.

The site also includes a blog, where Kristi can engage with readers and share insights from her writing process. It’s been such a fun project, and I’m thrilled to see how it’ll help Kristi connect with her audience as her book’s release draws near.

Kristi’s kind words mean the world to me, she was an absolute joy to work with, and I’m so grateful for her trust in my process. It’s always a rewarding experience to help bring an author’s vision to life.

Working with Kelly at Looking Glass Creative was one of the best decisions I’ve made for establishing an online presence. She is so personable, which helped make my asking the most basic of questions feel comfortable. Professional to the highest, even with our twelve-hour time difference, there was daily communication. Over the weeks, she produced a stunning website, with much patience for me! Even how-to videos were personalized (and will be invaluable to refer back to later.) Thank you beyond words, Kelly.
