Suellen Dainty
Author Squarespace Redesign

Industry: Publishing/Author

Suellen Dainty is a breathtaking writer whose novels are filled with grace, emotion, and quiet power. As she prepared to release her new book, An Invisible Tattoo, she needed a fresh online presence—something elegant and contemporary that would reflect the depth of her writing and support her re-entry into blogging.

Suellen’s previous website had served her well but was nearly seven years old and showing its age. The brief was to create a clean, classy digital home for her books, her readers, and her words—somewhere that felt welcoming, personal, and beautifully restrained.

I migrated her entire site from Squarespace 7.0 to 7.1, which allowed us to take advantage of more modern design capabilities. I established new brand colours and typography to give the site a cohesive, literary feel, and developed a layout that’s both minimal and intentional. Custom code was used throughout to refine elements, ensure consistency across breakpoints, and keep things running smoothly.

The new site features dedicated sections for each of her books, with links to major online retailers, space for rich reader testimonials, and a newly revived blog so Suellen can connect more directly with her audience. The structure is simple and intuitive, with quiet elegance guiding every page.

On the backend, I improved SEO across the board, ensuring her books and content are easier to find by readers and reviewers alike. The site is fast, responsive, and built to grow with her.

Suellen is not only an incredible author—she’s also a truly wonderful person to work with. I care deeply about the success of An Invisible Tattoo and feel honoured to have played a small part in its release. She deserves all the recognition in the world.
