Industry: Bravery Awards/Charity

The Royal Humane Society of NSW has been honouring acts of bravery since 1877. Their mission—recognising people who risk their own lives to save others—is both noble and deeply moving. When they approached me to redesign their website, I knew it was a privilege to help bring their important work into a more modern digital space.

Their existing site was dated, with a structure and design that didn’t reflect the prestige or impact of the organisation. I was recommended for the project by one of the Society’s chair members, a former client of mine, and I was excited to help them create something worthy of their legacy.

The brief was clear: a stylish website that felt modern and respectful, without overwhelming visitors. The council didn’t want a long, scroll-heavy homepage—they wanted users to land, orient themselves quickly, and navigate easily to where they needed to go. This informed a clean, intentional layout with clear signposting and minimal clutter.

From strategy and layout to design and development, I created a new digital identity that feels elegant and timeless. There’s custom code throughout to elevate the look and feel, along with robust SEO work to ensure the site is discoverable and accessible.

As with many projects involving committees, the timeline was a little longer than usual. The Society members are incredibly thoughtful and took time to understand the digital landscape—many of them were unfamiliar with modern website workflows, so part of my role was gently guiding them through the process and helping shape decisions in a clear and collaborative way.

I’m proud of the result, but even prouder of the work this organisation does. The team I worked with are the loveliest.
